I think this may be the most fascinating article I have ever seen from Slashdot: the proposed plot of the unmade sequel to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Infocom game. Of course, what makes it so special to me is the internal Infocom poliics...

I was at a garage sale today, and I found a hardback of Hitchhiker's Guide from 1979 (no slipcover though) in great shape, so I snagged it. I also grabbed a book from 1942 on how to write letters (business examples by a male author, and social examples by a female author) and a book from 1950s on wit and wisdom so you can sound oh so charming in social situations. I love old books. They can be so amusing.
